Kate, Duchess of Cambridge is a keen advocate of children’s mental health awareness. It’s an issue she’s championed in her public role since marrying Prince William in April 2011. Indeed, as a mother herself, the royal is well placed to understand the psychological challenges for both parents and their kids. And the duchess recently revealed what she would do if her own children had difficulties.
In recent years, Kate has become the public face for the royals’ mental health advocacy. In May 2019 the duchess opened the Kantor Centre of Excellence, an initiative with a mission “to drive change for child mental health.” It is part of the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFNCCF), a treatment, training and research facility in London focused on issues affecting children’s mental well-being.
