Royal divorces are nothing new – the Queen may not reportedly be happy about them, but they keep going ahead anyway. One of the more recent splits is between Her Majesty’s nephew David Linley, the 2nd Earl of Snowdon, and his wife Serena Alleyne Stanhope. It comes on top of some other royal scandals, and Linley looks set to lose much of his fortune.
David Linley – to use his professional name – is the son of the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret and her husband Antony Armstrong-Jones. His full name and title is actually David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon. When he was born he was actually fifth in line to the throne, but now he’s only 21st.
