The Crown quickly became a television phenomenon when it debuted on Netflix in 2016. The show, which follows Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 and will soon move into more modern times, is popular with royalists and TV critics alike. The show has given fans its version of several scandals and other dramatic events that have taken place throughout the Queen’s reign. The first season featured the Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, refusing to wed RAF Group Captain Peter Townsend. The second season showed us the 1956 Suez Crisis, in which the United Kingdom invaded Egypt, following in the footsteps of Israel.
