Drive west out of Washington D.C. on Interstate 66 and find your way to State Route 601. After a while, you’ll reach the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Keep your eyes peeled and you’ll notice a roadside entrance for Mount Weather. Don’t try to drive in – the security guards will likely take a very dim view if you do. But just what kind of secret installation are they guarding here?

It’s probably best to stay in your car and drive on another ten minutes to the Horseshoe Curve in Pine Grove. This is simply a friendly clapperboard joint where you can pick up a burger and a beer. But it’s also said that this inn is a favorite haunt of the people who work up at Mount Weather.
